Well, that’s over with! I probably have a coupla scenes to add/finish up before I can really call it done, but for the purposes of NaNo, mission accomplished!
IT WAS SO HARD.
This was my third NaNo and my first win! I have no clue what I’ll do with this story now that it’s (pretty much) done, I just wanted to give finishing NaNoWriMo a shot. As artists we’re always talking about the secrets of motivation and productivity, but really the most effective thing I’ve found for finishing a project is, well… finishing a project. Once I’ve hit one milestone, I feel more confident in my ability to achieve similar milestones down the road. Maybe I’ll do NaNo again! Maybe not, haha. But I’ll certainly be writing more books.
I may write a bit more this weekend just to tie up loose ends, then after November 30 I’m not gonna touch this thing anymore for a few months at least. Then it’s on to revising (maybe)!
Just posting this here so you guys know how the month went. :) I DID IT! So now it’s back to drawing on the regular. I may be a little slow since it’s the holiday season, but not having to worry about getting 2,000 words in every day will definitely free me up for more art.
I went to CTN Expo on Saturday and had a blast! I connected with old friends and colleagues, made some new connections, and I can’t decide if I bought too many prints or not enough. CTN has some serious organization issues, but I really value it as an amazing opportunity to network and discover new talent.
Now I’m all inspired to try working on personal storyboards again. Yesterday morning I jotted down a few ideas to play around with in my free time. Gotta loosen up a bit though, it’s been a while!
That’s right friends. I’m doing it. My Tumblr use may go down a bit this month so that I can focus.
If you’re doing it too, good luck!!! Let’s make it to 50k!
If my Tumblr participation seems greatly reduced for the rest of the month, this is why. :3
